November 11th

"We are thankful for our brother. Do something nice for your brother and be extra nice to him all day!"

The boys had a great afternoon playing together, even before they knew it was "brother day". Tonight they played with matchbox cars. Then we played the brother guessing game, per Logan's request. They took turns guessing each others' favorite: dinosaur, animal, food, dessert, thing to do, thing to do outside, thing to do with their brother, thing to do with mom, and thing to do with dad.

Logan loves to play outside with Seth.
Seth loves to play matchbox cars with Logan.

"All for one and one for all
My brother and my friend
What fun we have
The time we share
Brothers 'til the end."

"We are thankful for seasons. Go out and rake leaves together."

We couldn't rake leaves because there aren't many leaves to rake yet! Most of our trees still have lots of green leaves. But instead, the boys went outside and had a leaf war. I did not give the okay on this ahead of time. It consisted of helping every possible plant lose its leaves in order to throw them at each other. They thought it was great fun, but it was too dark to take a picture. Thankfully, the sage bush had plenty of leaves to spare!

"We are thankful for Mommy. Do something nice for mommy and be extra nice to her all day."

Well, I kind of ripped myself off by not having the boys read the daily note until very close to bedtime! Of course, my boys are pretty good to me most of the time anyway. Logan wants to play bedtime guessing games with Mommy for "Mommy Night" just like we did with Jim. And I did get lots of special hugs too.

I'm thankful for my own mom, who always lets me ramble on forever when I call to chat- even if I tell her I only have one quick thing to say!

November 8th

"We are thankful for Daddy. Do something nice for daddy and be extra nice to him all day!"

We went out to eat at "Jim's" for the first time. Get it? Ha-ha!

And we played some fun games at bedtime. The boys each shared their favorite thing to do with their dad.

Seth said his favorite thing is to play video games together.
Logan said his favorite thing is to give daddy hugs. (bear-dinosaur hugs)

(We took this time to let Seth and Logan express thankfulness for their dad; however, Jim and I are both very thankful for our dads too!)

November 7th

"We are thankful for kindness. Think of something fun to give someone in the neighborhood."

Okay, we weren't successful with this one. We were contemplating things to do for our neighbors, when some of our neighbors were super kind to us and brought us some yummy cake!! We are definitely grateful for kindness in our house!!

November 6th

"We are thankful for turkeys! Art project: Make paper turkeys."

We colored turkeys and ate a piece of Halloween candy!

November 5th

"We are thankful for good food. Go to the grocery store and pick out a food that you haven't tried yet."

Okay, so we didn't go to the grocery store; however, we did pick up some dinner and take it to the park. Seth went to Subway for the first time and tried a buffalo chicken sandwich with swiss cheese and lettuce. Definitely a first for him, and a new favorite too!
